#MINO : Statement from Mr.Saparman (the Head of Fishery Cultivation Technology Development Center, DIY)

Mr. Saparman is the Head of Fishery Cultivation Technology Development Centre, Center for Fish Seed (Balai Benih Ikan - BBI) Cangkringan, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Center for Fish Seed Cangkringan was founded in 1953 with an area of 0.9750 ha. In 1953, its activities were started by selecting and breeding “Mujair” fish seed with traditional method until 1967, with seed production of 616.000 fish per year. In 1967, a new method was introduced with the bag system; it reached 2.000.000 individuals per year.

With the efforts to develop superior quality of the seeds and the parent species of freshwater fish, various attempts have been made to improve seeding techniques. In 1977 have been found spawning method in Center for Fish Seed Cangkringan.

Until now, Center for Fish Seed Cangkringan is the largest fish hatchery center in Yogyakarta Province. Under the Marine and Fisheries Agency of Yogyakarta province, Center for Fish Seed Cangkringan plays an important role in the development of research and technology for breeding of various species of fish.

Center for Fish Seed Cangkringan is one of the potential development partners and research of MINO Microbubble Technology.

Started from a few people who want to develop aquaculture, including Mr. Kustamin, they have been able to empower majority of people in his village to work as fish farmer. Until 80 people accounted as the member of his community right now, this community contributed a lot in the development of Bokesan Village and because of majority of people in this village work as fish farmer. People started to call this village “The Fish Village.” This community cultured many types of fish but majority of them are tilapia and gourami.

This community has long relationship with Department of Fisheries, Gadjah Mada University. Now, they are an important partner to develop MINO, Microbubble Technology.

As the video shown, our MINO Microbubble Technology have been tested in Aquaculture Laboratory, Department of Fisheries, Gadjah Mada University.
